Manifest While You Walk: The Power of Combining Affirmations and Exercise

In the winter, I began experimenting with silently repeating positive affirmations to myself during my daily walks, a practice I call Mantra Walks.

Positive affirmations alone can train the mind to lean toward optimism and gratitude, which helps attract more good things. I wanted to incorporate this practice into my routine, but sitting still and saying affirmations for long periods seemed tedious.

Manifestating should be fun, not a chore. With Mantra Walks, being in motion makes repeating positive affirmations more enjoyable and does double duty by incorporating exercise. It's simple but the results have been remarkable.

Benefits of Walking

Taking walks on their own already have amazing mood-boosting benefits. Walking increases the production of endorphins, the "feel-good" hormones, which reduce stress and promote a sense of well-being. Being outside in nature—even in cities, parks and pockets of greenery are accessible—boosts spirits and reduces symptoms of anxiety and depression. Movement improves circulation, which helps deliver oxygen and nutrients to tissues, including the brain, promoting cognitive function and overall mental clarity.

Adding walks to my routine also promotes mindfulness. I get to be present as I engage in my surroundings. Sometimes I run into neighbors and friends or have spontaneous chats with strangers, and the social interaction is always a bonus.

On mornings when I wake up feeling sour, I know the best way to turn things around is to get outside and take a walk. When I add in the positive mantras, my day kicks off to a great start.

Mantra Walks = Faster Manifestations

Saying positive affirmations is a good introduction for anyone starting manifesting and conscious creation. Taking a Mantra Walk is your designated time to align your mind with positive frequencies. Alongside repeating affirmations for what you desire, be sure to include gratitude affirmations for what you already have. Gratitude signals to the universe that you want more to be grateful for, helping you attract even more blessings. As you manifest small things, it gives you the confidence to manifest bigger goals.

You don't need to be thinking positively all the time to manifest. Doubts and fears will always be there, but as long as you tip the scales to think positively over 50% of the time, reality will shift in your favor.

The walk doesn’t have to be long. Even 15 minutes work. You might find yourself walking longer because it's enjoyable. I usually walk for 45 minutes. If you're in the city, find a quiet enough route where you can hear your own thoughts.

How to Create Your Own Positive Affirmations

Prepare your affirmations ahead of time or create them on the spot. You can say as many as you want. For manifesting specific desires, focus on crafting affirmations on that topic.

Here are some tips on creating the best positive affirmations:

  • Use "I AM" statements, such as "I am successful," "I am in perfect health," "I am loved and appreciated by everyone," etc.
  • Use present tense. Avoid future tense—ex. "I will be successful"—which implies the state is out of reach. Using present tense will help you feel your desire is already your reality.
  • Use present perfect tense. The present perfect tense is also effective since it describes actions or states that began in the past and continue into the present. Examples include "I have always been successful in my career" and "I have always had great relationships with my family."

Keep them short and simple whenever possible. The affirmations should feel good when you say them. Say them as if you are celebrating what you already have instead of seeking something out of reach. In other words, feel as if you are already living in your desired state to become more magnetic to these experiences. Be confident, optimistic, and expectant.

My Results

When I started Mantra Walks, I focused on money affirmations. I was at the end of my personal sabbatical, but I was too burnt out to work as much as I usually did even though my income was declining. I decided to manifest money without having to work more. Remarkably, after a few days of Mantra Walks, the additional money did come. I tripled my income with barely any additional effort on my part.

Things can happen quickly, especially when you have little to no resistance to receiving what you want.

Risks of Repeating Positive Affirmations

Robotic affirmations involve repeating one or more affirmations over and over to manifest a specific desire. Many people use this method of repeating affirmations without much feeling, sometimes for hours. It can succeed since the mind is often accustomed to negative chatter and these positive affirmations can overwrite those thoughts.

However, if you find yourself stressed, fearful, desperate, tired, or depleted after robotic affirmations or trying out Mantra Walks a few times, it's better to stop for the time being. The goal is to feel good when you say them. After each Mantra Walk, you should feel better, not worse.

If it feels like you are lying to yourself when repeating positive affirmations, also stop. For every person who gets great results from saying positive affirmations, others manifest the opposite because their affirmations are rejected by their conscious mind. The conscious mind acts as a guardian to the subconscious, rejecting beliefs it deems unsafe. Since our reality reflects what we believe in our subconscious mind, reality can worsen if the fear and desperation are somehow amplified by positive affirmations. More work is needed to make the new beliefs feel safe in reaching the subconscious mind. Here are the 7 energy healing methods I used to change my own limiting beliefs successfully.

What you can also do is craft affirmations that are more believable to you. Begin them with phrases such as "I am open to believing..." or "I am learning to..."

For example:

"I am learning to love myself."

"I am open to believing I am deserving of my dream job."

These affirmations will be easier to be accepted by the subconscious mind.

You can also focus on gratitude statements. It signals to the brain that you are safe just as you are, which aids you in releasing fear and anxiety.

It's crucial not to ignore or push away negative emotions or issues that need to be addressed. Training the mind to be more positive doesn't mean shoving persistent problems under the carpet. I have a separate blog post on toxic positivity and another on self-healing if you're interested in learning more about those topics.

Affirmations simply open up a new point of view about life to help you have more fulfilling experiences. We are training the mind to focus on what we want, and taking the focus away from fears, doubts, and worries. Again, all we have to do is tip the scales over 50% in thinking positively to attract favorable outcomes.

I challenge you to take Mantra Walks for at least 21 days. You can make it part of your daily routine, just like I did.
